Just to add a bit...
About the sports silat thing... I know of instructors that use other martial art techniques e.g. Muay Thai, Karate .... incorporating the moves in sports silat... which I think is acceptable because at the end of the day, it is Sports but of course we have a unique feature that is the "kejatuhan and sapuan" (takedowns and sweeping techniques)
I have shown here that sports silat does not distinguish an athlete coming from any perguruan but showcased the trainers ability to internalise the students with good sound techniques that's effective and applicable.
Therefore my stand of taking sports silat out of perguruan should happen and perhaps this will reduce the tension among perguruans in Singapore. This will also see the rise of silat trainers rather than spin offs from perguruans locally...
